Central Memorial Hospital, one of the leading and pioneer hospital in arthroscopy (key hole surgery), arthroplasty (joint replacement) and other joint surgery, has established the “Premchand Vrajpal Revision Orthopaedic Unit” to revise complications that follow bones and joints surgeries performed previously. The department is the only one of its kind in East Africa.

The Hospital offers various medical services at its facilities. It performs major surgery such as Laparatomy, Thyroidectomy, Prostatectomy, Hysterectomy, hip and knee replacement surgery arthroscopic (key-hole) surgery as well as Laproscopic and Endoscopic Surgery.

The Hospital is dependent as far as medical facilities are concerned except for M.R.I. and C.T. scans. However, it has referral arrangements with hospitals and providers with this facility.

In the past, the hospital has run free medical screening clinic in and areas surrounding Thika, free dental clinics, free knee clinics which was done jointly by Central Memorial Hospital and Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty foundations which has been forty replacements.

In Central Memorial Hospital, Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty foundation in collaboration with Zimmer International have also done total hip replacement at a highly subsidized cost in the past.
